Underground King - M
Sometimes, within the most basic garment is a dynamic piece hoping to be released. All you have to do is let it out and it will find its own voice and character. I like to start cutting something up with no particular plan in mind and let the process determine the outcome. There’s something exciting about moments that come together without any advance notice. It’s not unlike those moments that got me into music early on. You can plan an arrangement and have a melody in mind, but sometimes the piece takes on a life of its own and goes in directions that you absolutely didn’t anticipate. It’s hard to maintain the illusion of control as an artist when that happens, because while you’re creative in and of yourself, sometimes creativity is its own entity with its own will and you’re just the vessel.
